Miguel spent half his life in the merchant navy, on ships over a hundred metres long, crossing seas you can't see from any terrace. Until one day he was offered work on a sailing boat and discovered what he'd known as a boy, dinghy sailing: the sea was his thing — but up close. With the water a step away and the people on board with names.
After COVID he decided the moment had come. In 2021 Vulcano Ocean Charter was born with the VULCANO I, a Rodman, and an idea that didn't fit into mass tourism: a luxury service run with professional judgement, where whoever comes aboard relaxes as if at home for the time they spend with us.
The name comes from what these islands are: volcanoes surrounded by the Atlantic. Five seasons and 161 five-star reviews later, in 2026 the Sunseeker arrived. The boat changed; the people running it didn't.

Miguel
Born in Tenerife. He started dinghy sailing as a boy and went on to the merchant navy, on ships over a hundred metres long. Fourteen years later, what he likes most is still the same: reading the sea and deciding. When to leave, where to anchor, when to wait. On board you can tell by how calm everything is.
Degree in Nautical Science and Maritime Transport · First-Class Merchant Navy Officer · PPER, professional recreational-craft skipper licence · 14 years at sea professionally.
Charlotte
From Italy and from France, and by now a little from Tenerife too. She arrived and the sea kept her. Ten years looking after the children of families who don't accept a “more or less” gave her what can't be taught: knowing how to be, anticipating, and getting the children to enjoy it as much as the adults. On a private boat, that's worth more than it seems.
On board we speak Spanish, English, Italian and French. With Vulcano since 2023; before that, luxury hospitality.

Thirteen metres long and four wide: room for eight people not to step on each other, and for a couple not to feel lost. Sun deck at the bow, cockpit at the stern and a platform at water level for the first swim.
